State elections are over (Thank you, Lord.). The presidential election is looming...for 12 months! Please, God...the anguish!

Okay. So it turns out that I am not a political pundit. But I did find some words of wisdom on all of this.
Tony Perkins, who is from Louisiana, is president of FRC Action, the legislative affiliate of Family Research Council. He lays out exactly who he thinks we should vote for. His advice is based on conservative thought, and Tony professes to be a born-again Christian. Good qualifications in my book. To get that information, go to www.frcaction.org. I spent a lot of time looking up the candidates, reading about them and thinking about them. It gives me new respect for pundits. The amount of time and energy it takes. It is, however, their job. Most of us have jobs, etc., etc., and etc during our days that take up a lot of the research and evaluation time. One of the mistakes I made was trying to attack the problem as a blank slate. I fell into the trap that we've all been accused of. Oh, you think that because you're a Republican. Oh, you think that way because you were raised in a Democratic household. Of course, you think that way because you are one of those 'born-again' Christians. I wanted to be able to say I had made these decisions based on principle and current evidence, and prove that I was open-minded. But, you know what? Phooey on that! I am a born-again Christian. I was raised with conservative Republican values. I live in a southern state. Worst of all, I watch Fox News Network. All of these things and a lot more influence how I process information. Get over yourself. Next post, I hope, will be totally a-political. Please. |
