Been Bullet Journaling for several weeks, now. I’m enjoying it, and learning a lot. Kim and I are still communicating about our Bullet Journal Journey. That’s been great, too. I strongly suggest starting out with a good friend. (One that you don’t mind letting them see your life up close.) It’s a good sharing time.
I had to retire for medical reasons (Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and gave up a lot of my extra-curricular activities, so my calendar doesn’t seem as full as it used to….but it is useful for other reasons. It has really helped me keep up with the little details of my life. When you don’t have as structured a life…like when you retire and don’t have a work-schedule to keep up with….it’s really easy to lose track. It fills in the fibro-fog blanks, and they’re right at my finger tips.
Now, I have a ritual. At 9pm, I sit down with my bullet journal and my favorite TV show. I go through the pages, fill out my tracking graph and plan the next day.
I highlight the tasks accomplished. That’s my way. I don’t see it in any of the tutorials. It’s colorful, your eyes are drawn to it and you can read what you have done.
My journal is still not as beautiful as the ones I looked at on line drawn by obvious artists. No leafy vines winding their way through lovely calligraphy. Well, the good thing is that I write like a kindergarten teacher, and I use a lot of color. I like it, and, since the basic tenet of bullet journaling is make it your own, that counts for a lot.
