My Bullet Journal
My newest project.
I have dreams of being organized. I have organization books and magazines all over my very unorganized house.
My cousin was just here for a week. She and her family were here to celebrate our aunt and uncle's 60th wedding anniversary. (Yes. I did say 60th. Hard to believe in this day of 6-day or 6-week marriages! [See celebrities.]) She suggested we look into bullet-journaling. So, whenever we had a chance, we searched the internet, and scoured Pinterest. There were so many examples of beautiful bullet journals. It seemed they were all done by artists. My little heart just jumped at their beauty and possibilities.
Then I spent hours looking at fonts so I could make mine beautiful, too. I took pages of notes. I got out one of my notebooks so I could get started......But, I couldn't get started. The notebook was so clean and new. I didn’t want to mess it up. I kept practicing different fonts and was never satisfied. It was never as beautiful as I had seen on Pinterest.
Well, I must get started. Even if it's only a very simplified version. It's exciting to think this may be the system that gets my life on tract. (track?)
EVEN IF YOU’RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, YOU’LL GET RUN OVER IF YOU JUST SIT THERE.
WILL ROGERS
It’s not a Leuchtturm 1917 A5 like in all of those gorgeous examples. The notebook is actually a lovely NORCO Composition book I bought at Walmart. I got it for 50 cents. They always go on sale around the start of the school year (After everyone’s gotten their supplies.). Kim and I have promised ourselves a Leuchtturm if we are successful with our cheaper version. Hardcover and dotted pages. Oh, man. Is there anything better?
I splurged on the fine-point Sharpies. I found the Crayola Markers at a good price.
Can you say, “Learning curve”?
I learned that all of my markers are MARKERS. When you write in the notebook, it goes through the paper.
That’s okay. I live to learn.
